Well this is the last writing project of the semester.  I had a choice to test out of both English 101 and 02 but decided to take the classes anyway.  I am really glad I did so.  I learned a lot this semester.  Once I got the ts/cd/cm thing down things went much smoother.  On this last essay I wrote the conclusion paragraph before I put the hamburger on the bun.  I think it is a good essay but, have yet to turn it in.  I found I also really enjoy free writing.  Free writing allows me to get all my thoughts down and once that is completed I get to organize those thoughts.  One thing that I struggled with was getting started.  Especially with the last couple of essays.  I kept putting them off because I was not sure what I wanted to write about.  I have found that I pretty much have to write most of the work immediately and then pine over it for a few days before I submit it.  Again I am very glad I took this class instead of opting out.  This is stuff I will take with me for the rest of my life.  I know the assignment was to be several paragraphs but this is a free write and I don’t want to sit and ramble.  Thanks you.

I guess my biggest problem with the resume is keeping it to 1 page.  I have done several resumes over the years and like what I have done in the past but, I also usually have all of my work experience on the resumes.  Maybe if I shorten up the work experience I can get it to 1 page.  Besides that I think it is a great project to end the semester.

Humor.  What a great topic.  I find that humor is one of the only things that gets me through most days.  When someone or something starts to irritate me or tries to ruin my day I simply use humor as a defense mechanism.  Many times I will put in a funny movie just to lighten the load.  Many comedians crack me up but I think my favorite is Family Guy.  Their sense of humor, it’s a quick show, and they pull no punches with race, creed, color, or sex.  Also music, the most important thing in my life, plays a pivotal role in my education.  One artist that comes to mind is Frank Zappa.  Brilliantly executed music, with a sick sense of humor which fits right along with mine.

I had a tough time with essay 3.  The thousand word requirement scared me to death.  I found having difficulty starting.  I found it difficult to begin.  I procrastinated a lot with this one.  Spending days at a time not righting when I should have just kept going.  I will be handing it in tomorrow.  I think it is a good essay but not totally happy with it.  Time is running out.  Been doing a lot of redo’s the last few days to try and catch up.  Almost there.

Considering I got a b on essay 2 I am pretty happy with the essay in general.  I found it somewhat difficult to write about 3 different articles.  It seems like I had no problems writing with two but with three, that for me was a bit too much information.  At the time the essay was written I did not yet have a good understanding of how ts/cd worked.  Now that I have a good understanding of it I will use it with everything I write from here on out.  It makes sense and transitions nicely from sentence to sentence.  Citing has become pretty easy for me.  I have a good understanding of it and know it will help in the future.

I really enjoyed writing this essay.  I felt that as a musician I found that I enjoyed the different opinions concerning country and rap.  I rewrote the essay even though I thought I did a good job with it.  Hopefully I will get a better grade with the rewrite.  I think what I find most challenging is getting my thoughts down in an organized fashion.  I am still struggling with the whole ts, cd, etc. concept.  Hopefully I am not the only one.  I am still so far behind in my other class as well that I am scared my grades will suffer.  I look forward to continue trying to understand my mistakes so I will eventually become an accomplished writer.
